Calling all ice cream connoisseurs!

Joe Lion on the Hunt for Some Cincy Ice Cream!!!

Looking for the best place to get your sweet treat fix this summer? I have the perfect list for you! Here are some of the top-rated ice cream shops in the Greater Cincinnati area. Voted by ice cream lovers, food tourists, and me! In no particular order, here are the top five must try ice cream hits!

Located on Beechmont Avenue, we have Mt. Washington Creamy Whip. They have dole whip, soft serve, flurries, you name it. Customers say the pineapple dole whip and the vanilla soft serve are the best.

Like a refreshing gelato? You should try Dojo Gelato! They have two locations in Cincinnati, one in Findlay Market and another on Blue Rock St. I am an everything coffee lover, and they have one of the best coffee gelatos I have ever had. The flavors are rich, sweet, and definitely addicting. They have gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options, so there is something for everyone!

A Cincinnati local favorite that I am dying to try is Hello Honey. Hello Honey can be found on Madison Rd, Race St, and Ridge Ave. All of their ice cream is made from scratch, and it is free from artificial colors and flavors. They have so many unique flavors like Banana Honeycomb, Lemon Lychee, and Cookies & Biscoff. I can’t wait to get up there and try the Banana Honeycomb, it sounds delicious!

What is better than a classic root beer float in the summer? The answer is nothing! Since the 1950’s, The Root Beer Stand has been going strong. You can locate it on Reading Road in Sharonville. They serve their traditional floats, blizzes, and ice cream cookies for a yummy treat. Their root beer is made the old-fashioned way, which gives it a delicious and unique taste. They also have some amazing food, I recommend their coneys or burgers!

Lastly, don’t forget to make your way over to the Pendleton Parlor. It is another shop with multiple locations, so no matter where you are in the Cincinnati area, you need to make time to stop by. You can find a Parlor on Broadway Street, Main Street (Milford), and Beechmont Avenue. They have many lovely ice cream flavors, shakes, and malts. However what makes them unique is their edible cookie dough. They have four different options, and customers rave about them all!

Summer is right around the corner, which means ice cream will be a go-to on our hot Ohio days. Hopefully one of these suggestions will spark your curiosity and get you to go out and support some small Cincinnati businesses! Hope to see you there, and no I will not be sharing my ice cream!
