According to the American Library Association, “Established in 1982 Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community in shared support of the freedom to read.”

Did you know that books like Harry Potter, The Secret Life of Bees, Fun Home, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, A Court of Mist and Fury, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, The Great Gatsby, Blankets, The Bluest Eye, American Psycho, Gender Queer, Scary Stories and More Scary Stories, Catcher in the Rye, The Hunger Games, The Awakening, Looking for Alaska, Ulysses, and The 1619 Project (and most of the novels Liz Mason teaches) have been BANNED from classrooms and school libraries?

Are you a Brave Reader?  Do you Read Dangerously?  Want to “get caught” reading a Banned Book with us? Join members of Writer’s Block in the Seton Lobby on Friday, 9/27, beginning at noon.  Bring your favorite Banned Book or choose one of our novels.  You can get your Mug Shot too!

Be part of our effort to get “Freed Between the Lines”!  Free bookmarks! Free stickers! Free fun!
