As a transfer student coming in as a junior, MSJ has treated me incredibly well.
Though it’s been only five weeks since the semester started, my life has forever changed for the better. I would have never imagined after graduating from Cincinnati State that I’d be at a university that welcomed me with so much hospitality, encouragement, and making sure I knew I belonged.
I had worries when I first got here, some like “Will I fit in?” “Will I have to tone myself down?” The answers to those questions are simple: No. I have been welcomed all while being my true authentic self. I am loud, theatrical, and sometimes a little irritating. Instead of being shunned or feeling like I don’t belong, I am right where I need to be.
I’ve found groups of like-minded individuals who get me, who love me, who want to see me succeed. I even now have a newfound love for football. LET’S GO LIONS!
To make a long story short, I love the Mount, and I’ll be sad when it’s time to graduate but let’s not think of that yet! Cheers, everyone. Here’s to a successful semester filled with love and prosperity.
